Have you ever felt that you had to change a life goal to meet an expectation of family?
"Ha, all the time. As an entrepreneur, my largest goals are set and sought after based on what life I'm trying create for myself and my family."
Do you ever feel uncomfortable talking about race with people outside your race?
"Rarely, as it's now a core part of my job with Black & Brown Founders. Sometimes, I can sense that the conversation is uncomfortable for others to have, though. I believe that some level of discomfort is necessary to really get people to see the issues and get serious about change, but I do also try to be intentional in how I approach these sensitive topics with others. Namely, because I find that their ability to absorb what's being discussed can be hindered by the discomfort if they don't feel safe to engage (often because they lack experience in having hard conversations)."
As a black woman, what makes you hopeful?
"As a black woman, just existing can feel difficult. SO many cards are stacked against us. But there's a silver lining to this: the result of our struggle is that Black women are some of the strongest, most determined, resourceful, unstoppable people on earth."
